about me.
Hi, I’m Natalia Diaz. I’m 22. If there’s one compliment I hear most often, it’s that I’m the most creative person people know (also, I have really good hair). Since I was little, I’ve always had this instinct to create. In elementary school, I wrote and illustrated books about my stuffed animals, and my mom helped me bind and sell them to my classmates. In middle school, I made websites for fun on Wix and started an Instagram account for my dogs, Vice and Kane. That page actually reached over 3,000 followers and I was convinced I was going to make them the next dog influencers. I later launched a nail art page to share my designs and even landed paid promotions with nail brands.
In high school, I fell in love with calligraphy. I started posting videos of my lettering on TikTok, back when the app was still new, and suddenly my content was going viral and I was gaining tens of thousands of followers. Even though I don’t do all of these side quests anymore, they were never just hobbies… they were all pieces of what shaped my creativity, my work ethic, and the way I express myself.
I always knew I had a place in the business world. As a kid, A KID! I begged my mom to buy me cashmere cardigans and business casual clothes. That drive eventually led me to my dream school—the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University Bloomington, where I majored in Marketing and Digital & Social Media Business Applications, with a minor in Fashion Design. Going out of state was a huge leap and a financial challenge, but I made it my mission to earn scholarships and work part time to help fund my education. I’ll always be thankful to Kelley for taking a chance on me and awarding me one of their most prestigious scholarships.
One of the most meaningful parts of my college experience was founding Fashion Forward at IU—a student organization I started from the ground up. I wanted to create a space that welcomed all students, regardless of major or experience, to explore their love of fashion and beauty. We emphasized diversity, inclusion, sustainability and especially self-expression. We hosted creative events, brought students together, and gave people a space to feel seen and celebrated. Over time, we grew to over 250 members in just one year, built a strong executive board, and launched impactful projects like our future Secondhand Thrifted Fashion Show and a Women’s History Month Speaker Series. You can learn more about these and other projects in my portfolio. Even though it was a lot of work (especially during my senior year), running Fashion Forward was the highlight of my time at IU. I was able to build strong connections with students, faculty, and creatives who share my values, and I’m excited to keep growing in spaces that celebrate individuality, culture, and creativity.
Now, I continue to pursue my passion for fashion and community. I’ve made over $5,000 reselling 90s and 2000s vintage clothing on Depop and at markets and I’m still creating through my poetry, blogs, and marketing projects. Whether it’s been through social media, small businesses, or student leadership, I’ve always believed in turning passion and creativity into purpose. And while my journey has had many different chapters, each one has pushed me to stay curious, and stay true to the person that little girl in the cashmere cardigan dreamed of becoming.
I’m actively looking for full-time opportunities in marketing, advertising, sales, and related fields.
